The Animal shop
Chet's Animal Shop is located in the lower southeast corner of the village. He is open Monday through Saturday, from 6am to 6pm. Chet sells you animals and products to take care of your animals. You can also sell animals back to him.
At the beginning, when you visit him he doesn't give you anything

Carpenters shop
The Carpenter is open, just like the rest of the shops, Monday through Saturday from 6am to 6pm. Ken is in charge of the shop. On Sundays he can be found wandering the village next to his shop.

At the beginning of the game Ken will supply you with an ax and a hammer. Later in the game he will upgrade your hammer to the Super Hammer. Once you have him built you your first house expansion, return to his shop once it's done to receive the Super Hammer.

Ken will also built you other things besides your home expansions. He can built a Bridge so you can reach the other part of your crop field, your Hot House, and your Sheep Barn. When you request something to be built, Ken will arrive at your house the next morning to tell you how much it will cost you and how much wood he needs. You can either tell him no, or let him know he can proceed. If Ken is building something for you, you can check how long it will take him by looking at the Schedule in your system notebook.

Church
When the game first begins, the Church is not open. The village doesn't have a minister to run the Church. On the 15th of Spring, first year, Cain will arrive at the village to open the Church up.

There isn't much to the Church. When you enter it Cain will ask if you would like to pray to the Harvest Goddess. After you've finished praying, you can talk to Cain by selecting the "talk" option. The only other option available is "exit".

The Clinic
The Clinic is open Monday through Saturday, 6AM to 6PM. The Doctor and Nurse will help you if you become sick or if you are weak.

Getting sick and weak is a very easy thing to do when you're working hard on the farm. Every time you do a strenuous activity, you loose a little bit of energy. Your farmer will eventually give you a visual status of his or her energy level.

You will also become sick if you are outside working hard while it is raining or snowing. The bad weather won't wear on your energy level, but there is a very good chance if you exhaust yourself while working outside in the bad weather you will become sick. Being sick is never fun, and if you become sick you spend the day indoors in your bed. Your animals aren't fed which means they will be pretty unhappy with you for 3 days. You will be fine the next day.

That's where the Clinic comes into play. It's a good idea to visit the clinic at the end of the day, between 5pm and before it closes at 6pm. If the Doctor and Nurse determine that you are sick, then they make you spend the rest of the day (and night) at the Clinic and release you the next day.
If you went to the Clinic before you fed your animals or finished any other activity you may have been working on, then you won't be released until the next day. Then you have grumpy animals and a whole day of planting wasted. Staying overnight in the Clinic doesn't save your game though!

Flower shop
The Flower Shop is open Monday through Saturday, 6am to 6pm. Daisy is in charge of the shop. On Sundays she can be found in the Town Square. In the beginning she gives you a watering can and some seeds.

Daisy sells you seeds that you'll need to grow crops. She also sells seeds that you can use in your Hot House. Each season Daisy will have different crop seeds for sale, and will also sell different seeds depending on what gender your farmer is. Some seeds she sells year round. At any time you can buy Grass, flower, and herb seeds from her. Once you have the Hot House built by Ken, she will also sell Pots you'll need to use to plant seeds in.

She is also connected with upgrading your tools. If you are friends with her, one day when you enter her shop she'll tell you she found an ax that use to belong to her father. She'll give you the ax, which is actually the Super Ax. You know you're getting close when she tells you "Hi! What'll it be today? I highly recommend everything".

The library
The Library is in the lower left corner of the village, south of Ken's shop and west of Rosie's Restaurant. Mary is in charge of the shop. You dont actually buy anything at the Library. It holds the books that contain pictures of the bugs, fish, events, and plants that you've found. Also the Trade Center is found here.
Whenever you catch a bug, fish, or harvest a plant that was grown in the Hot House for the first time, a picture is taken of it and documented in the books at the Library. Each book has an image on it and it's name. To the right side is where you can turn to the next page, go back a page, close the book, or print out the picture using your Gameboy Printer. If you want to print, you can choose between dark, normal, or light printing.

The Restaurant
The Restaurant is the place where you go to buy food. The Restaurant is open from 6am to 6pm, Monday through Saturday. Rose is in charge of the shop.

Having a supply of food is important to keeping you healthy. You eat automatically when you wake up in the morning (6AM), once in the afternoon (12PM), and once at night (6PM). If you choose to go to bed before 6PM you don't eat.

Rosie will sell you your supply of provisions. She sells them in packs of 10 or as single servings. The single servings you eat immediatly at the shop and the packs you reserve for later use. If you become incredibly weak during the day due to hard work and you want to continue working, you can run to Rose's and buy single serving food items. Single serving foods replenish your energy so you can continue working. It works much faster then sitting in the Hot Springs, plus you can also replenish all of your energy. You can't do that with the Hot Springs.
